Washing machine manuals

Every newly purchased washing machine should have an operation manual with it. Unless you’re buying a used unit which the previous owner may have lost the manual. I don’t know about you, but whenever I buy a new gadget or any electronic appliance, I would read through the manual before even switch on the unit. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Back to the manual, like what I said before, I’ll read through but many people might not. Do you still remember when was the last time you read the car owner’s manual? Mine still placed under the seat. Just like any other manual, the first thing you should look at the washing machine manual is the precaution section, especially the front load washing machine. I find it a bit annoying as the precaution section normally located at the appendix or last chapter of the manual. If you follow through all the “how to get started” steps in the beginning, but later you found out that “things to take care before you begin” at the back, you know what I mean the frustration.

First rule of thumb, switch off the power supply to the washing machine before opening the unit. Well, you may say it as a boring and old man saying lesson, but it is too important and critical to follow the advice regardless who you are. Anybody can get shock regardless of your age.

There are few important points in the manual for your reference:

  • The recommended detergent or soap solution as recommended by the manufacturer
  • The setting for different fabrics types and materials
  • Regular maintenance practice to take care of the machine
  • Check the maximum capacity allow for the laundry

If yours copy is lost and did not get it from the previous owner, then I suggest you to buy it from the online store. Whether from Nextag, Amazon or Alibris.com, I believe they’ve got the latest version copy and the best bargain if you compare all the prices among them, as low as $17. Of course, there are too many brands and models of washing machines out in the market, but the fundamental of the washing machine design and parts are almost the same, any manual can give you the guide and instruction on how to use and how to repair if you like.
