Tip #1

Leave the washer door opened (the only worries are the rats and cockroaches)

How long you should leave the door opened? As long as the smell gone. Provided you should wipe out the moisture and droplet on the surface of the door and the inner drum.

Tip #3

Some suggest to pour a cup of bleaching agent during a normal washing cycle. Be sure that you’re washing only white clothes, else nobody guarantee the colored shirts will fade and spread over to other white clothes.

Alternatively use lemon juice that kills musty odors as well as leaving a nice fruity smell. Be organic, use less chemical!

Tip #4

Leave a fresh dryer sheet, this function to absorb moisture. Of course you can’t just relay on this. Still have to left the door open and dry out thoroughly or use desiccant gel if you wanted to.

Tip #5

Be creative, use vinegar, borax or baking soda to your wash laundry. If you are not sure about the reaction of the cleansing agent with the clothes, try to run an empty load with only hot water and the bleaching agents.

Tip #6

Do not use fabric softener as these chemical may not dissolved thoroughly and leave the skunky smell of the remaining water residue.

Tip #7

Use lesser detergent, recommended to use a little bit of more than enough as advised on the usage label of the detergent. Normally one table spoon of detergent is more than enough in a load to make your laundry clean. Excessive detergent gives nothing good but get stinky of the soapy residue.
